Not to clutter the main calendar with niche adventures:-

21-02-15 Hailsham - more than moderately hilly 120km

08-03-15 Otford - deliberately and gratuitously hilly 50 or reverse for 100km

14-03-15 Catherington - not flat 100km

22-03-15 Golden Green Tonbridge - rolling but 200km

28-03-15 Oxford - across to touch Wales 300km?

or

29-03-15 Wareham - classic Dorset Coast 200km, small gears & lights required. See Francis Jordan's separate topic.

Dorset Coast Audax 29 March 2015

Will anyone join me for this year's Dorset coast audax? 207 hilly kilometres around Dorset. Coast and inland Wareham to Wareham via Corfe Castle, Bridport, Axminster and Dorchester. A wonderful day of cycling setting off at the crack of dawn so staying locally is best. There are plenty of B&Bs.

It is very hilly, very hilly so only suitable for those with strong legs and stamina.

A few ideas for anyone of an audacious persuasion:-

Set aside your pre-conceptions, save your sportive entry fees, take the chance and just have a good time instead of doing a good time.

13-07-14 San Fairy Ann 'Flat as possible' 200, 150, 100, 50km Bethersden Nr Ashford , Kent. Well presented, well attended. Good introduction. Easy to get to. Link for 200. Sure you can find the others. (There's a 300 too)http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/14-860/

Pleasures of the Fleche

Every Easter teams of 3 to 5 riders converge on York from all parts of the UK in a 24 hour ‘Fleche’ or ‘Arrow’ event during which at least 360km must be covered under Audax rules.

Often weather at Easter is unfavourable and there are legendary tales of past ordeals through flood, gale, snow and ice to fulfil the commitment. 2014 happened to have Easter almost as late as it can be, thus offering the chance of fairer conditions and so a record 23 teams were enticed to enter.

Ladies and gentlemen. I would like to invite you to join me and Clive H for the Dorset Coast 207km audax on 7 April. Please refer to my post last April for a taste of the event.
This is the link for the details and application: http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/13-110/
It is a very well organised event with good refreshment stops and I hope that lots of you will join us.
I will look into B&Bs in Wareham and post on this forum.
Thank you. Francis
