Life's a Beach

9 Riders made the trip to Puttenham in western Surrey.

Bit Sandy in places over there...but non the less an enjoyable ride.

The 30M loop took us around the Commons of Crooksbury, Hankley, Thursley and Witley, also including the Heaths of Hydon and Shakleford.

Marcus stuck to the bridleways good and poper making use of the ford in Tilford.

Keith Reed in fine form

A punishing headwind and a very cold morning were not enough to prevent Keith Reed from posting a splendid 56.51 at the first flat 25 of the season at Horsham.

His efforts were enough for an excellent 7th out of 65 starters behind Steve Dennis of east Grinstead (54.51). (If he keeps this up we will have to find a picture of him!)

Other good performances from Redhill riders included Trevor Chilman,1.00.21, Duncan Murdoch 1.01.39, and Nathan Chamberlain 1.04.10

New feature!

I have enhanced the Snitz Forum code so that it displays an avatar (picture) next to each post.

You can add your avatar by going to the members area and clicking on 'Upload Avatar'.

Please use a JPG image that is under 100k, otherwise it will fall over.

Don't worry if your image is big - it will be resized to 120 pixels wide.

If anyone does try using this feature would you let me know if you have any problems.

The Big Wight

The Big Wight (previously the Wight Diamond Festival) has established itself as 'don't miss' event for hundreds of bikers. It's unique combination of superb riding, events to suit everyone, on site camping, catering, bar and entertainment have earned it quite a reputation!

It takes place on the Isle of Wight from 23rd - 26th May and is organised by the TrailBreak team. For more information go to www.trailbreak.co.uk

Some RCC members are going, so why not join them?
Contact Helen, Cheryl or Lee if you are interested.

Good turnout for an intermediate ride

A good crowd and three new faces for the 'intermediate / beginners' ride.

Mike Ormerod kindly provided a wonderful route, about 30 miles, not quite what was planned.

Graham, Malcolm and Brenda disappeared halfway to cycle to Cornwall or some distant place. Geoff and Jez decided to head back at 12 miles, not bad for a first ride, we hope you'll come again!

A tea stop at Epsom Downs followed by me bowling over Adrian, sorry! Thankfully no damage, except to my reputation!

'20' is the New Black

Trevor Chilman won Round 3 of Redhill CC's 2008 time trial series, and joined the suddenly expanding group of riders to have recorded a sub-21 minute time on the GS338 (Horne) course.

'Prior to last Wednesday the only RCC rider to have achieved this feat was Martin O'Connell, back in 2003', commented timekeeper and club president John Eglington.

Rather than doing this you should say something like: 'see the contacts page for my email address', or, 'email me via the forum'.
