Some DI2 changes just out inc automatic shifting!

1. New junction box that is concealed as a bar end plug (replaces the box stem mount)
2. New d-fly unit (transmits gear/battery level to Garmin) now supports Bluetooth. It is also more compact unit rather than the block you had to mount on the rear seat stay. (rear seat stay version (same size) with bluetooth is available as well)
3. New battery with Bluetooth support
4. Bluetooth?? -- required for new E-Tube app so now can configure DI2 using a tablet or phone (before was computer only via USB lead). A lot easier for updates and configuration.
5. Three different modes for gear shifting: you set what mode you want using the button on the junction box.
- [ ] MANUAL - No change, you do everything manually
- [ ] SEMI-AUTO - It will automatically knock down/up rear cassette by 2 cogs whenever you shift the front derailleur
- [ ] AUTO - use the right leaver ONLY up/down and Di2 will take care of sorting out the best chain line and gear that will keep the same cadence automatically changing the FD for you when required as you go up/down gears. Therefore acting as if you only had one chain ring. The left hand lever switches are not required at all, but it will still continue carry out a front change if pressed.

From what I have read is that you need BOTH the new battery and d-fly unit to do all of this. It's also sketchy if software is enabled yet for Ultegra although Shimino have said it's coming. Mine is on order from Germany now so as soon as I get it happy to provide a demo/feedback.

The next step surely will be Garmin taking into consideration power, cadence and talk directly to DI2 to have a fully automatic bike, although not sure where the fun is in that? I quite like my terrible gear shifts :)
