As some of you will know I was reminded about the importance of carrying a spare rear mech hanger hanger last Saturday. I did not have said part last week and my ride was 0.5m ride and 0.5m walk and several hours of desperate disapointment. The saga goes on as I need a Kona S type hanger and they are RARE. I think there is a little old man in deepest China who is making one right now to special order for Kona UK. The message is get a hanger before you need it. It is a showstopper when it breaks but they are cheap, small and easy to fit on the trail but bike specific so you cant borrow one.
