Peter King's TT Bike

Peter King is a life member of Redhill CC. The former CEO of British Cycling who still serves as a director wrote to us recently with an incredible offer for a Time Trial rider around 5'10" tall who has £700 spare. Here is what Peter said:

I have concluded that the ravages of time and a couple of medical challenges have meant coming to the conclusion that my time trialling days are well and truly over.  As a consequence I plan to part company with the beautiful Planet X Stealth machine that was built for me about 10 years ago to a spec drawn up by the great Ian Cammish.  It’s all carbon with Dura Ace groupset and carbon wheels, all black with white lettering/logos.  Supposedly very fast in the right hands (or should it be legs!) but ridden only about a dozen times (quite slowly) by me and moth-balled for the last 7/8 years.  Before putting it on e-bay I thought it worth mentioning it  in case it might do service with any up and coming testers.  It cost about £2,500 when I bought it so would probably cost nearer £4k today but I have not put a price on it yet.  I’m guessing it might go for £600/£700 but I would prefer to see it go to a good home in the Redhill or Dorking Clubs if possible.  Whatever it makes I will donate 20% thereof to the Club charity (if you have one) or to Prostate UK if you don’t.  Photograph and spec attached in case you think there might be some interest.
