REDHILL CC COMMITTEE MEETING.  7.30 at the Junction public house.7.30 1st September2015

 

AGENDA.

 

 

1. Apologies.  R.Bacon-A.Miles-M.Brennan-G.Haysom

 

2. Approve and sign minutes of Committee Meeting 27th July

   Done

 

3. Young persons policy

The policy was agreed in principle by the committee, a checklist for leaders will be   printed as follows.

A.Is the rider fit enough ?

B.Appropiate equipment is in use

C.A parental consent form from a parent is obtained

D.Person must be nominated by a parent

E.The ride leader has to be happy to take a young person on the ride.

F.The young person always has to have at least two people with him in the event of a mechanical or puncture

The thanks of the committee went to Rick Gregory for all the work he has done on this.

 

4. Sports Awards

John Eglintons name will be put forward for an award ( he subsequently received the Senior 

Citizen Sports Award)

 

5. Chairman’s report

The TT season has had a successful season, the new group of timekeepers etc handled it well, 27 Rcc riders took part, a way of re-invigorating is needed for next year. There were some slight problems with the right turns on the alternative course.

Matt Peel won the scratch win, Billy Weir got the handicap trophy.

£100 has been donated to the Golf Club's preferred charity.

The Saturday rides are steadily getting larger, one possibility mentioned is a staggered start, although the practicalities of this may make it difficult.

 

6. Gensec's report

A. Membership cards, 2016

Frank will look into getting the 2016 cards outsourced for printing, a re-design will be needed. The main difference being that members will add their own name and details to the card.

 

b. Hog Roast

The Hog roast will go ahead on 5th September after the the 70th anniversary rides.The Dog and Duck has been selected. Cost will be £5-00 for members, the club will add £5-00 per person.

 

7. Treasurer's report.

Richard has circulated the latest figures,bank account stands at C£14000

 

8. Press and publicity report

Cycling Weekly have been in touch with Mike with regards to doing a feature article about the club, provisional date has been set as 3rd October when their reporter and photographer will ride with the club to Four Elms.

There may be mileage in stories about Michelle and Billy. 

Calais numbers are now 13.

 

9. Road Event Secretary’s report

Denbies in now all set and in place.

 

10. MTB  Secretary’s Report

Colin has produced a short film clip to publicise the 70th annivesary rides, Colin and Gwyn to lead.

 

11. Mtb Events report

There will be a Dartmoor weekend on the 25th September

 

12. Racing secretary’s report

November 16th will be the date of the AGM

Phil Jemmison has joined  the committee of the South Eastern division of the Surrey League
