DENBIES DUELS- we have all the marshals, some spectators would be nice.

Our Denbies Duels Event is only a week away - Sunday November 3rd. So far we have had a fair response t our requests for marshals, but we do need some more!

To remind you,  we are hosting the inaugural Denbies Duels hill climb event at Denbies Vineyard on the A24 together with Dorking CC.

We would need you from 9 am (although earlier would be helpful for setting up gazebos etc) and we should be finished by 1 pm or so.

If you have had previous marshaling experience, you'll find this a refreshing experience - no need for jumping out in front of cars with a red flag, the "traffic" will be Ramblers, dog-walkers and mountain bikers.

If you have had no previous - no worries, there's plenty to do.  It is also a nice event for first time marshaling because it is not on-road. You may get bitten by an octegenarian Rambler but you won't get run over by a lorry.

The weather is going to be good, the views are spectacular, the leaves will be turning, and the racing will be interesting. The entrants vary from some seriously quick hill climbers to a number whose stated Box Hill time is slower than mine!

What better way to spend an autumn Sunday morning.

Seriously we do need more marshals, as it is the first time of running this very different type of event  and we have to err on the safe side.

So if you can help, will you please respond to this topic or email me directly at rwg1@hotmail.co.uk asap.

Thanks

Rick
