The club has been contacted by the Reigate twinning council  to help with a visit from a group of cyclists  from Brunoy   timed for September 14th-16th ,an appeal will be made for our members to provide accommodation if possible ( there will be about 5 cyclists)

It was decided that the club will invite the French people to our Saturday rides and lay on some refreshments for them when we get back to the Airfield.

5.  Saturday rides conduct, safety.  Bruce Dunbar

Concern has been expressed by one member about the conduct of some club rides, he felt not enough attention is taken by ride leaders to prevent tail end riders being dropped and a lack of disipline on the road. The meeting agreed that this does happen in a minority of rides but that in general conduct and consideration for others is satisfactory, ride laeders are certainly aware of potential problems and do all they can to bear the problems i nmind.

6.  Sportive, Sponsors, Routes and safety.    Steve Taylor

Steve Taylor has been finding it difficult to find sponsors for this year’s sportifve, the club is to contact Evans, there is also a possibility the long route will be dropped as the returns on the amount of work involved are not justified, Ian Burks will be consulted on this.

On the question of safety, Steve reported he had found one riders using headphones on a club run, the committee strongly dissaproves of this and will act against any riders caught doing this in future.

7. A Possible link with a club in Waterloo, France

   B Review Trophies

C Club Dinner and Trophy evening

M.Ormerod has been in contact with the Waterloo CC in France with a view to arrangeing a twinning  agreement, this would be beneficial to the club and Waterloo would be handy for the

paris Roubaix. We may invite the Waterloo CC to join us on the Brunoy visit.

A meeting will be arranged to have a thorough review of club trophies

The committee is in agreement that for the trophy awards next year we should have a more formal presentation ( years ago it was a dinner/dance in a decent hotel) Adrian suggested we have a website poll.

8.  Chairman’s report

Adrian spoke of high volumes of new member applications, because of numbers Sunday G2s will be a good idea. In order to alleviate numbers on Saturday rides it was suggested leaders can set their own timetables  for the day thus spreading the load  and giving more choice of start times. In addition to this Sharon has  started a G2 from Lingfield into Kent.

It was suggested that the rolling pictures at the head of the website could possibly show future events.

9.  Gensec's report

Renewals are going well with 264 members registered, there are 44 to renew of which about 40 will drop out. Frank has been contacted by Graham Baker who has started a new club there and alllowed the Dorking club to utilise RCC safety advice.
