1.  Apologies  from Sharon Houghton and Jo Dipple

2.  Approve and sign minutes of Committee Meeting of 25th Jan 2011
Physical copy of minutes not available but agreed for the record

3.  MGO proposed a payment of £100 to the Woodhatch Park Project. This is in respect of the many times we have used the park in recent years. Mike pointed out that the park is run by a local project not the council so this would be a nice gesture. Passed

Action: SH to raise a cheque

  1. MGO raised the possibility of an RCC T shirt.  Fran to be asked to submit a design, cost to be around £5-00 to sell at £6-00. These would be a sports type fabric rather than cotton (sample shown). Adrian agreed to create a form for people to express interest.  50 to be ordered initially

Action: Mike to find out about YMCA shirt supplier and start discussions

  1. Chairman’s report (AW). The move to Redhill Aerodrome has been a great success, the Aerodrome is to be approached with a view to using the perimeter track for training etc.

Lynne Mulholland has volunteered to help administer the kit list. Kit is ordered and awaiting delivery.

It was suggested we have a bike tagging session with the local police in light of recent thefts. The aerodrome will provide an excellent venue for this.

A venue for the BBQ to be held in September has not yet been found (news via SH) Darren at the aerodrome is to be approached to see if that is possible.

Action: Frank to discuss with Aerodrome

6.  Gensec's report (FG).  About seventy  members have not renewed this year. current membership now stands at 238  ( 23/5/11). A brief description of an incident involving a driver who falsely claimed to be a member of the club was dealt with.

8.  Treasurer's report (APW in SH absence). No financial report covering April as yet (due to statement timings). New kit is ordered with excess items in stock at C&N

9.  Press and publicity report (MGO). We have had reports in the Surrey Mirror. Mike has requested more podium pics.

10. Road Event Secretary’s report (BC). Rides are all being well attended with the system at the Aerodrome working well. There is still a shortage of leaders. It was noted that leaders are expected to take overspill rides on the day if required.

11. MTB  Secretary’s Report (JT).  Again, more MTB leaders required, especially in providing more Sunday social rides.

  1. Racing secretary’s report (RB). Cat 3s have been doing well in events and the club is doing well in handicap competitions. Members have been taking part in Norwood Paragon chain gangs promoting better relationships between the clubs.   Maurice Brennan has asked if it would be possible to gain club funds towards entry fees for a Welsh event, this was discussed but the committee felt it might lead to excessive  demands on club funds as so many riders enter so many events through the year. Agreeing to one could set an unsustainable funding precedent unless the circumstances were exceptional, so it was felt this should be declined with the best possible goodwill over the request.    Marshals for the 4th and 9th  June and 23rd July road race  are still being sought.

13. Time Trial Secretary’s report (GC). Two marshals are needed for the 21st May SCCU 10. The February sporting TT went very well. 21 riders took part in the first evening TT of the season. The national 24 hour Sussex  event ( 25-30 June) will require marshals from the club

14. Promotion Secretary's Report – covered under item 9.

AOB. Bruce raised the question of photographs on the site showing riders crossing the central white line and cutting corners on public roads. Given the potential for some motorists and non-cyclists to believe that cyclists disregard laws/road markings, it may be best for ride leaders to avoid showing such pictures even if the circumstances at the time were entirely safe.

Gareth Ashton has asked for a payment of  £213-00 to cover the cost of a training session for off-roaders. This was agreed on the basis that skills learned will be brought back into the club. The next training session will be at Peaslake in August.
