Up! Up! Up!

Redhill CCs profile has grown enormously in the last couple of years. We are turning up at all kinds of events (in all disciplines) and I think it is fare to say that our reputation as a competetive force is also growing. With this in mind it would be great to see more Redhill riders out doing the end of season hill climbs.

If you have been out on the clubs weekend rides or done sportives you are bound to have ridden the hills that make up the major competitions in the region. Many are put off hill climbs as they do not like the competetive nature of the events. However if you can get up one of the hills on a club ride you can so as part of a competition...remember its not the winning that counts...its the taking part.

Winning the Catford or the BEC takes a special kind of rider but when you look at the start sheets all sorts of riders of all ages take part...on all sorts of bikes...race, flat bars, MTBs, tandems and even a handcycle. What you will 'win' by taking part is the admiration of those on the hill cheering you on...everyones a winner...see below.

Here's a list of what's going on:

02 Oct Kinston Wheelers 1100 (Leith Hill) open event.

03 Oct Redhill CC 1100 (Leith Hill) club event.

09 Oct Brighton Mitre 1100 (Steyning Bostal) and 1430 (Mill Hill) open.

10 Oct Catford 1030 (Yorks Hill) and BEC 1400 (White Lane) open events.

Open events need to be applied for through the CTT...just like open TTs the like of which 10 Redhill riders are doing this Sunday...see links below.

We've riders of all types and abilities within the club and a big turn out at the Catford and BEC by riders in our club colours would make for a great event...so why not give it a go! Let me know if you've any questions
