A typical Sunday Steady to Greenfingers

The Sunday Steady ride has always been a popular part of club life. After a small lull in the mid 2010s, it's now back in demand for those keen on unpushy endurance riding. For the clue is in the name! Steady, sociable riding usually on rides of 50 to 70 miles with lovely tea/coffee/cake stops.  Lots of chatter is supplemented by safe group riding with everyone staying together throughout... no testosterone!

This week, despite the looming black clouds, 11 Redhill riders set off from Perrywood Sports Centre to ride in two groups down towards a verdant  Ashdown Forest.

We stopped for coffee halfway round the route at the Ashdown Forest Garden Centre AKA Greenfingers Café where plenty of coffee and cake was consumed. Yes, a few drops of rain fell and the temperature swung around a little but overall lovely to be out for 62 miles in total taking in some lovely quiet country lanes and beautiful views.

Thank you to Matthew for route setting, Keith for his usual excellent photos and the whole group for upbeat spirits. See you next Sunday!
