On Sunday 3rd November, RCC and Dorking CC working together will stage a new type of hill climb event at Denbies in Dorking. On a private path, pairs will compete against each other to reach the top of a climb similar to Box Hill in gradient but a little harder. The winner, goes through. Simple.
There will be a limit on the number of entries so get your entry in quickly to be in for cash prizes on the day. £250 for the eventual winner and other prizes of £100 and £50 for 'best efforts', junior winner, Vets winner etc.
The Inaugural London 100 Sportive starting from QEOP in Stratford, 100 miles out into Surrey and back to the Mall.
Jointly run with Dorking CC this is a new take on the club hill climb.
Run on a paved road on the Denbies Wine Estate. 2.2Km/1.37 miles long, average 6% gradient (i.e. very similar to, but harder than Box Hill).
Competing in pairs, this will be an elimination contest. We will aim to evenly match pairs for the initial climbs and as riders are eliminated, riders will face others winning their duels who are closest matched.
A presentation evening by Mark Beaumont on his long distance cycling. In Kensington and it's free! Should be a really interesting evening.

For all paid-up RCC Members, the Annual General Meeting is where the new committee is elected and a chance to hear a review of the year plus outstanding matters arising.
The meeting will last a maximum of two hours.
PS Simon Ward from Surrey Police is planning to bring a team of up to six from 8.30am to the Aerodrome to tag around 30 bikes an hour. This will mean staggered starts for rides on that day but I hope up to 100 of you might come and be there for a photo.
There are two very big benefits for all of us:
