G5 go exploring and Leeson gets his timings wrong

Submitted by Peter Farnfield on Sun, 04/06/2014 - 12:08

In Brian Costello's absence at the Tour of Flanders where I understand he had some dramatic moments it fell to Peter F to lead the ride. Suggesting that we go south to explore a loop east of Haywards Heath towards Lewes seem to have some support so we set off directly south with a good crowd in tow comprising Peter F, Stuart G, Barry (with beard and a new rider with G5), Chris Grant, Simon Webster, Calvin, Leeson, Chris Stone, Norman Blisset and Angus - I never wear leggings or long sleeved shirts - welcome back.

G2 and the ToB next Saturday

Submitted by rickgregory on Sun, 09/15/2013 - 15:02

As you all know Stage 7 of the ToB will be next Saturday and I'm sure that some folk will be making plans to go and watch the race somewhere.

If there is reasonable G2er interest, next Saturday's G2 could start with a ~20 mile loop to Tanhouse where we can "take" tea etc. Then we could ride via Capel and up Broomehall Lane to Coldharbour and watch the race as they top the second KoM of the stage at about 12:50.  Total ride length would be ~46 miles.

End of Season looonnggg G2 ride!

Submitted by Millymoose on Sun, 08/19/2012 - 20:46

Myself and Mark V have put a ride on the calendar for 30th September to have an all day 'tour' to Eastbourne.

The ride is for G2's or any others who are prepared to ride at our gentle pace!

The idea is to have brunch, lunch and beer and to herald the advancing shorter days.

Limited to 12 riders so expressions of interest appreciated!

Extended G2 level Sunday ride

Submitted by rickgregory on Mon, 03/19/2012 - 08:19

On SUNDAY there will be another extended G2 level ride of about 65 miles heading down into Sussex and the Wiston/Steyning area (tea stop in Wiston).

The aim is to increase our mileage rather than our speed. The route is fairly flat with no serious hills (honestly!) (about 2600 feet of climbing) and we will be aiming at bottom end G2 pace.

The start point will be the Reigate Heath car park on Flanchford road - which we used for the last G2 Sunday ride in January.
(RH2 8AB approximately for your SatNavs).

G2 RIDES THIS WEEKEND

Submitted by Sharon on Tue, 03/06/2012 - 12:39

This week you will see there is a longer G2 ride which leaves from ocassionally yours and will go to Yalding and back, its about 65 miles
the aim is to increase our mileage rather than speed and I have picked a fairly flat route for that purpose.

Also on Sunday we are doing a 25 miler from the same place out to Hever and back for those of us who want to get in some back to back riding

If you are intending to come on Saturday please post your interest here so we can see how many people are intending to do the longer run

Thanks Sharon x
