Redhill Aerodrome Under Threat

Plans have been flagged in the Surrey Mirror today to build 4,500 homes, roads and other infrastructure on the site of Redhill Aerodrome.  Needless to say, this would cause all sorts of local issues (congestion, pollution, pressure on services etc) and add significant extra traffic onto the whole area around the Drome which constitutes many of the lanes and road we cycle on to go East.

(only issue you can choose starting wave which are not grouped into times but instead 16-18yrs, women, with friends. so probably end up like L2B but might appeal to friends starting out into cycling - with one main climb at Wimbledon hill (although to a RCC club rider that's probably classed as small hump)

Prudential just released new event - so if not got into RideLondon 100 there is now a 46 mile event also finishes on Mall

Just in case the weather ever becomes favourable to ride again, the Milk Churn at Rudgwick is offering cyclists 20% discount during the month of February.

Advertised using a nice photo of an RCC club ride.

Unfortunately we went on Jan 30.

This might interest a few who enjoy hill climbing and self navigating.  Justin might be doing it.

£5 to enter and you will get a bacon butties.

A traditional reliabilty ride run by the Old Portlians which Cycling Weekly once quoted as the real 'Hell of the Ashdown'. A great, 'Hard Riders', no frills event with two fantastic routes, 100km and 68km through Kent, taking in the Ashdown Forest
