Tyre Wrestling - a new sport for the MTB section
The MTB Experienced ride gained valuable experience in tyre wrestling, as they suffered from four punctures during the course of a fine morning's ride in the Surrey Hills.
The first puncture stuck Sylvan before the first trail of the day, the ever-popular Yoghurt Pots, was completed. He suffered two further punctures before deciding that discretion was the better part of valour and bailing out of the ride early. Later, James was struck by the puncture plague and he needed some help persuading a reluctant tyre back onto the rim.
Fourteen riders enjoyed the experienced ride, which explored old favourites including Barry Knows Best and John the Baptist, while introducing some riders to some new discoveries. It never ceases to surprise me that no matter how many times we ride in this area, there are always trails we haven't ridden before. Long may it last.
The fine riding on the dry trails was rewarded with home made cheese straws and mugs of tea at the Peaslake stores to round off a fine morning.
