Thinking there may have been few takers it seems that the thought of a Calvin led alternative steady ride had galvanised people into action and around 16 left the Drome in G4 mode. Before we got to Leatherhead we had picked up Steve, Martin and John McManflu.
Richard is riding so hard at the moment that his tyre inevitably punctured but that provided the perfect opportunity to split the large group in half. Martin and Steve looped for home shortly afterwards but the reward for those making it to the Pheasantry was seeing Santa dispensing Xmas cheer.
Richard then contrived to miss our photo opportunity probably checking out his power stats before the run home. The bonus for the rest was having Darth Vader take the team photo as Obi-Wan Kenobi ghosted in the shadows to recover his light sabre which had fallen at Walter’s feet.
Another split on the way home as a soft-pedalling misunderstanding meant the crew returned via the out route whilst a select few returned via Cobham. A glorious but cold club run which somehow felt even colder on the return leg. Lots of faces I can’t put names to unfortunately but good effort all round and thanks everyone.
