Peel and Henton triumph in 2014 finale, Miles better than last year

The 2014 RCC Club TT series drew to a close last night with Matt Peel stepping up his performance on the night with a PB and overall win to ensure victory in the scratch series. Will Henton produced another solid time to clinch the Handicap series win with a Redhill Cycling Club all-time record handicap points haul.

In the Road Bike competition, Freddie Davy took the series win by 1 point from Stuart Bunt.

The Veterans Standard competition overall saw the closest result. Nick Davy took the series win by the narrowest of margins over Brian Hennessey. Both riders had 79 points, both had 7 wins, but Nick had three 2nd places to Brian's two, taking the 2014 Vets series title.

For the Womens overall it was Michelle Arthurs-Brennan for 1st, Catherine Gaskell for 2nd.

In the Junior overall Freddie Davy won unchallenged.

Richard Bailey was, as ever, The Fastest Trike.

As John Eglinton reported, overall attendance was up this year and near the heady levels of 2011. Nineteen riders took part on the Horsham course, whereas 46 riders raced at Horne.

Michelle Arthurs-Brennan took home a bottle of white for a combined points total, and Steve Bryant took home another bottle for rider with highest attendance, despite living furthest away! Stuart Metcalfe took the last bottle for best Vet over 60.

Club Chairman Adrian Webb presented John Eglinton with a well deserved big bottle of Bordeaux for his huge amount of hard work throughout the season running every event, putting out signs while most riders are having their dinners and taking them down while the rest are eating their suppers.
