The fates smiled kindly on the eight riders gathered at Woodhatch Park at the later time of 10 am. No ice, sun all day and a vacant table for 6 at the tea stop at Wiston. We had no problem squeezing 8 on it to it. By the time we left, the cafe was full to overflowing.

Despite the wide range of abilities, we rode together at a social pace, re-grouping after each hill. After re-fuelling , we headed back for home at a brisk pace, (for me, a leisurely spin for Rupert and Charl).

Rupert forged ahead near to home and put in an extra loop to clock up 100 miles by the time he reached home; 65 + for the Reigate residents and 70 for those of us from Redhill. A good January workout in excellent company.
