New Route

I wanted to try a new route connecting Box Hill and Ripley. The route was Box Hill, Leatherhead, Fetcham, Effingham tea at Ripley, return was East Clandon, Ranmore, Dorking, Red Lane, Leigh and Woodhatch.

New Route Box Hill to Ripley

The riders were Martin, Des, Keith, Steve, Richard, Stuart, Paul, Ed, Andre and leader Chris.

The section that concerned me was getting through Leatherhead and connecting Fetcham and Effingham by using Lower Road and missing the A246 and the traffic. I was so involved in connecting the route together I forgot to advise the cyclists of Crocknorth climb, but they forgave me, well did not receive any complaints.

Weather was mild, cloudy not windy thank goodness, a perfect autumn day. The road surface was not that slippy because most of the leaves had been blown away by the other traffic, (the cars do have their uses). Even had a drop of rain.

Stuart back in G3, after a sojourn in G2.

Keith was left at Leatherhead with an unrepairable tyre after his second puncture of the day telephone call to his wife to be rescued, first was on the short climb at Tilehurst lane. Richard also had two punctures, but managed to carry on.

Thank you Martin for back marking it was appreciated.

Thank you guys another ride thoroughly enjoyed.

Picture is taken on Ripley Road with beautiful views to Woking, Croydon, Ripley and Guildford, even on an autumn day it was a good photo opportunity.

Specs for ride 51 miles at 16 mph and 2,900 feet of climbing.
