Another phenomenal Saturday!

Yet another great Saturday for Redhill, the popularity of these rides says it all. The racers sped off to the hills, the Newcomers Ride, led by Mark Vincent, headed West and a big Intermediate ride (photo) led by Chris Hall headed for Ranmore Common, with Sharon kindly back marking.

I joined Chris's ride thinking it might be easier but with some great new riders, found myself straining up the hills. Alastair Smith out for a try ride, was very impressive but everyone kept up well, all the way to Shere for the tea; staff there were overwhelmed with the numbers! It was a delight to see so many new faces and also many keen and competent female riders, Tracey was clearly no stranger to the Surrey Hills!

On the way back, Lewis unfortunately found a pothole and took a tumble. Recently qualified First Aider Chris looked after him and we added another smashed helmet to our collection; thank goodness he was wearing one! Just bruises and scrapes. Nick kindly drove him home later.

Alastair led the homeward bound breakaway, myself and Pete were struggling in his wake! The rest weren't far behind. In all, another great Redhill day.
