A lone breakaway in the closing laps of the race, secured victory for Ishmael Burdeau (agiskoviner) in the Redhill CC Surrey League handicap race at Charlwood.

Four Redhill riders competed in the race with Jon Masters finishing in 11th, Leigh Smithers in 12th, Nathan Chamberlain in 14th and Trevor Chilman in 19th places.

As is the nature of a handicap race, the field came together for the closing laps, but not before Burdeau had made his escape and he rode strongly to hold the bunch off in the run to the line.
