Ride in Wye with sunshine and bluebells

Our slightly further afield trip this month was to Wye in Kent to take in a different aspect the North Downs. With fifteen riders and one of the best days of the year we head for the hills and the North Downs Way.

Up onto the ridge was and interesting climb, following the NDW into King Wood. The views and scenery were spectacular on such and clear day as we dropped down into Shottendon. Back up towards the view point at 505ft and the lookout, were we paused to gather after couple of punctures. Back through a huge orchard towards Chilham and a little more of the NDW.

The trails throughout the morning were really well drained and apart from the odd mud bath for some, we ended up back in Wye twenty two miles later knowing we ridden some off the highest points in the area. Everybody stopped for a great lunch by the river with the overall opinion of a thumbs up ride.

Maybe we’ll try this one again soon.
