Reigate Hill to Newlands Corner
It was a tall order to cover the 17 miles off road from Reigate Hill to Newlands Corner in and hour and a half, hence why it was advertised as a fast ride. Mark arrived in plenty of time and decided to get a 10 minute head start by setting off early. The rest of us got away soon after 8am to head across the ridge towards Headley. Making the most of Lodge Bottom Lane we arrived at the base of Box Hill in very good time.
Weaving our way past Denbies and Ranmore Common we came across Mark who appeared out of a side turning. Riding through the woods of Oaken Grove and Netely Heath, we found ourselves on the final straight to Newlands Corner.
It certainly was a fast ride averaging 12mph and there was just time to grab a cup of tea before we took a more leisurely ride back.
