Masters wins 2007 TT Series; White takes Handicap

Jon Masters was declared winner of Redhill CC's 2007 Time Trial series after the final round on Wednesday evening. Steve White takes the handicap prize for most consistent improvement during the series.

In the Scratch competition, Masters scored the maximum 80 points from his best 8 rounds. Trevor Chilman was second with 68 points from 8 rounds, and Steve White third, with 60 points from 8 rounds.

The final round, at Horne, near Smallfield, was won by David Motton in a time of 21:19. Duncan Murdoch was second in 21:26, followed by Chilman in 21:36.

The evening's VIP guest was head of British Cycling, and club member, Peter King. Peter is on the comeback trail, and recorded a respectable 24:40.

Twenty riders turned out for the final round, which was held in still and dry conditions.

The riders thanked timekeeper John Eglington for all the work he has done throughout the series.

The only remaining club time-trialling event of 2007 is the annual hill climb at Leith Hill on Sunday 14th October at 11 AM.
