Redhill CC Sporting TT

Submitted by rupert on Tue, 11/23/2010 - 07:01

This is the first of two open time trials that Redhill CC is promoting in 2010. It is the only event in the London South calendar that uses course GS/478.

Course
GS/478. Westcott - Abinger Hammer - Holmbury St Mary - Forest Green - Walliswood - Oakwood Hill - Ockley - North Holmwood. 18 miles.

'Sporting' is the name given to this type of course: sporting courses typically have an up-and-down profile over mostly minor roads (as opposed to a flat 'A' road course).

Course Record
0:40:58 - Peter Tadros, Feb 2009
(previous best 0:42:03 - Andrew Bye, Feb 2007)

Past Winners
2009 - Peter Tadros; 2008 - Dave Dent; 2007 - Andrew Bye; 2006 - Paul Pickup; 2005 - Paul Pickup; 2004 - Paul Pickup; 2003 - Paul Pickup; 2002 - Paul Pickup; 2001 - John Limpus; 2000 - Paul Mill; 1999 - Peter Main; 1998 - Richard Hallett; 1997 - Liam Maybank; 1996 - Tim Stevens; 1995 - Brian Taylor; 1994 - Keith Reed; 1993 - Phil Watkins.

Entry
There are two ways to enter: postal entry or internet entry.

For postal entries, entry forms (download from Cycling Time Trials website), along with a cheque for 7 pounds (payable to Redhill Cycling Club), must reach the organiser by Saturday 13th February.

For internet entries, please visit the CTT website.

There is no 'on the line' entry. To enter you must be a member of a club that is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials.

Trophies
The winner will receive the Crusader Trophy, to be kept for one year. The fastest rider from Redhill CC will receive the Peter Appleyard Memorial Trophy.

Minimum Standard
There is no minimum standard, but if you would expect to take longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes then this event is probably not for you.

Safety
CTT regulations require the compulsory use of helmets for the under 18’s. In the interests of your own safety, Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise all competitors to wear a hard/soft shell helmet that meets internationally accepted safety standards.

It is recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to following road users and is active while the machine is in use.

Rules & Regulations
This event is being promoted for and on behalf of Cycling Time Trials, under their rules and regulations. If you are unfamiliar with these rules and regulations, please refer to the Cycling Time Trials website.
