Annual Pumpkin-fest

I've ridden this particular club run this weekend since 2009, so why break tradition? Tulleys has grown bigger and bolder with its Hallowe'en celebrations and the club has grown similarly. So it was lovely for two groups of eight each to set off at different paces and meet there for sustenance and the pumpkin photo.

My group featured five newcomers to G3, all of whom rode strongly, sensibly and sociably. Well done all! And a few club 'rocks' - most notably Mark E, heading out with a group that averaged over 15mph on a mountain bike with the purring hum of nobbly tyres. Of course, he was first up the hills as usual and on the flats provided an enormous wind-break for others to sit behind.

My group ascended Tower Road and turned right down Grouse Road... Frank's turned left to miss off the drag of Brantridge Lane and get to Tulley's before us.

On the way back, Big Vin's 3.75 to Balcombe passed us on Old Hollow smiles aplenty.

We even saw a few hints of sunshine on the way home before the drizzle started just after arrival back at the Drome.

Super morning, super riding, good pumpkins... let's do it again next year!
