Good times at Horne Time Trial!

SIXTEEN riders turned out for the Wednesday evening Horne TT, three laps of this exciting 9 mile course, made so much better because Steve White had gone round earlier with his garden shears cutting back the bushes on the corners! I'll take a broom next week for the gravel. STEVE YOUNG clocked the fastest time, 21.29 on this, his 40th birthday! The photo looks like he expected the bumps. Close behind him were Trevor Chilman and Leigh Smithers. I just scraped into the 22 minute bracket with Steve White and Geoff Clinton, streaking ahead.

Club ride to Glynde.

Glynde near Lewes is a new venue for us as Mike O has discovered a new tea stop. The ride is certain to be scenic with possibly some climbing as we reach Glynde which is near Lewes. Distance about 60 -65 miles at an average of 15mph and we should be back by 15.00. Usual 9.00 start from the Angel.

Club Social Friday 5th Sept, make a date!

Please put this in your diary now! Stunning presentations and truly interesting talks by some of Redhill's top riders. STEVE YOUNG on the Race Across America, 3000 miles, £90,000 raised! GEOFF CLIFTON on the Paris-Roubaix and La Marmotte, some of the toughest rides on the continent. We're still arguing over who will do the presentation for the Red to Med. But RICHARD STERRY will make your legs tremble with his account of the 100 mile South Downs Way Challenge. Should leave time for me to tell you about my trip to Sainsbury's. Should invite Kevin McCloud?
