Club ride to Mark Cross

The route to Mark Cross in Sussex may be lumpy in places but for good scenery and quiet lanes it takes some beating. The tea stop at Mark Cross is also a good one. Start at 9.00 and expect a ride of about 70miles or so at an average speed of 15mph. Your leader will be Graham, so wear your club kit if possible.

Marvellous Marcus !

On a windswept night at Horne, Marcus Brueton (Norwood Paragon) proved to be the class of the field as he made light work of the windy conditions recording a time of 21-04. Hot on his heels were Jon Masters in 21-38, Paul Mellen (Horsham) 21-55, James Stewart 22-04 and Steve Young 22-08.

Ron Howe was a worthy winner of the handicap prize, being the only rider to improve on his PB in the difficult conditions.

The ladies battle went to Maddie Dykes (in her first time trial), who finished in an excellent 25-17, ahead of Crystal Holmes 26-33.

Now we're settled in just in thought I'd let you know how we're getting on. Well the biking is great! Those who know me know I love big hills, and there's a good selection round here. I did Col de la Croix (1700m) soon after the snow melted on the race bike, and last week did it again on the tandem with Heather in the trailer! That was hard!
