Destination: Mark Cross. Fairly hilly ride through country lanes at an easy pace.
This week Stuart B will be re-running his ride around Holmbury and Peaselake taking in the RCC MTB TT segment on Strava. Last time Stuart led this ride, he made his way over to the shop to the start of the segment and then led a lap at a regular pace around the course. Returning to the shop the opportunity to ride the lap at your own speed was given to every one now we were all familiar with the course. This will be the general order of this ride, so come and have a go!
This ride is open to everyone (int/exp)
Starting out at car park 9 in Holmbury I plan to make my way over to the far end of Winterfold picking up trails along the way and then back for tea at the shop. It might be possible to session some of the steeper trails on Pitch Hill if people are feeling up to it.
This week Lee will be leading a ride from the windmills at Hassocks, over to Stanmer Park. This is a xc ride taking in some of the Big Dog course with the tea stop in the park. A great ride with a good tea stop, and a good one for all those riding the race the following saturday.
Warning Height Restriction Barrier
This week Lee will be leading one of his fast pace Friston forest rides.
For a bit of climbing you'll be rewarded with some of the fastest flowing trails the south coast has to offer. Much needed tea stop at the end.
You will need £3.50ish in coins for the carpark
Round 11 of the Summer TT series took place last night and the conditions were calm and warm but high air pressure and a light NNE wind put paid to anyone improving their handicaps times this week.
Aled will be leading this ride. Starting from Bletchingley Village Hall Car Park behind Lawrences Auction Rooms. About 20 miles with a tea stop in the middle.
Destination: Ditchling Tea Rooms. A sprint up to the top of the Beacon optional!
It was the Annual Summer Open event on the wonderful course GS/189 on Saturday 1st July 2017. The course which runs on very familiar roads, starts in Faygate near the train station and climbs up to Rusper before a fast-northerly approach to Newdigate, Parkgate and then around the Newdigate circuit in reverse before a left turn takes you back on the reciprocal route back to Rusper and finishing in Faygate opposite the start. Rolling to say the least but lovely country roads we all know so well.
