Rollapaluza Night

Mike Baker, Dorking CC Chair, writes:
"DCC are holding a Rollapaluza night on Friday 2nd March. I don't know
whether you are familiar with the event, but it is basically a 500m
sprint competition on static bikes (front forks fixed, back wheel on a
roller). There are some spare spaces available and wondered whether it
would appeal to any of your riders. It will be held at Burgundy & Black
cafe in Dorking starting at 7.30pm - entry fee £5."

Sunday Steady

NOTE the start time (09:30) and place (Woodhatch Park).

Destination and tea stop to be decided on the day.

Roadies Away Weekend in Wales

We will again be spending two days in the Brecon Beacons at the Star Bunk House, Bwlch (or other place of abode if you wish). Last year's explorer proved this is great cycling country and routes suitable for all riders can be found. The evening meal in the pub across the road is fantastic and we found a great cafe for Sunday morning's breakfast. Let me know if this will be of interest to you. Peter Farnfield

Experienced MTB 27th January 2018

A winter mountain bike ride is not measured by the usual methods such as miles or amount of climbing, but by volume and quality of mud. Mud formed in areas of clay or chalk is thick, sticky and horrible to ride through. Sandy mud, on the other hand, is ruinously abrasive and can destroy a set of disk pads in one ride.
