G2/3ers – where were you?

The forecast was a bit pessimistic, and only six G2 and G3 riders turned up at the RRGC. But, the planned ride was not so far, nor so fast; it wasn’t particularly cold nor was it particularly rainy and just one challenge to keep us warm.

So just Jill, Karen, Stuart, Nick and I joined Matthew for his meander through the lanes, keeping us close enough to home to allow for a quick dash back should the weather become inclement.

Leigh, Brockham, Punchbowl and Pixham Lanes to the bottom of Box Hill, where Matthew became un-typically democratic and actually asked us if we wanted to go up Box Hill (it was a good job there were only six of us!). After Box Hill we turned up through Headley and rewarded ourselves with the run down Lodgebottom Road and headed back to Brockham for a stop at the Southdown Café.

As the weather was still OK, we looped down to Newdigate and Blanks Lane where the rain started, so as planned we short-cut over Norwood Hill and back home.

Thanks to Matthew for organising an interesting and pleasant winter's ride and a nice tea stop. Thanks to all for coming out and their good company…and since you ask, it was just 33 miles.
