Frozen trails and frozen toes...

27 hardy mountain bikers including four (brave) new faces gathered by a frozen Godstone Pond, before setting off up Gravelly Hill. We crossed the bridge over the A22

before getting nice and cool running down past Woldingham School. A quick climb and descent round Haliloo Road golf course got everyone warm again, and then,

after a short road stretch the climb up to the North Downs ridge made it considerably warmer. A fast run down from Gangers left everyone with grins before the tea stop at Knights,

although there were some grimaces getting going again to come back over the ridge. Over the M25 we were running late, so half the group decided to head back along the A25, while those

who had decided they clearly weren't cold or tired enough yet came with me through Oxted to run back along to Tilburstow Hill before our final descent into Godstone.

Mockery for my tumble on an easy patch here can be saved for next week- total miles for the long group about 24, toes about minus 20.

Cheers to Dave for back-marking and everyone who kept people going in the right direction at corners!
