Well the way it worked out there were seven of us from the start until Stu G had already had enough by Colgate and then we were six.
Maybe Stu left because it was very hard work into the wind heading south to Hurstpierpoint but it didn’t seem to be affecting our roadrunner Chris or wily coyote Roland who was out on his winter bike. Nick, Fiona, Justin and Pete just had to hang in there.
Returning with the wind behind us was much better and Fiona was snagging QOM titles for fun. Roland had a geographic failure when we split at Horley for his group to head back ‘directly’ to the Drome. We next saw them at Woodhatch traffic lights after Nick, Fiona and Pete had branched up Lonesome Lane whilst they had looped around the A217.
Really pleasant ride in the sunshine towards the end as compensation for the 60 mile burn-up averaging 18mph.
