Chris new Club 25 mile Champion at SCCU 25

Chris Herbert put in a strong performance in this morning's Southern County Cycle Union 25 to record the fastest Redhill time and clinch the club 25 mile championship for 2015

Competition at this years club champs was fierce with 8 riders representing the club in one of the regional landmark events.

Riders woke up to a bitterly cold morning, negotiating frosty roundabouts and ice warnings popping up on car dashboards for the journey there, the first riders setting off in temperatures of 4 degrees celcius. However as the sun arrived the leg warmers came off as Sussex bathed itself in the rays of a beautiful sunny Sunday morning.

Michelle Arthurs-Brennan put in a great ride to win the women's competition by almost two minutes over rivals Percival and Mcgeever.

Matt Peel put in another course P.B performance, improving on his time from earlier this year by two minutes to give Chris a real run for his money.

Indeed were it not for the In Gear Quick Vit duo of Conal Yates and Pete Tadros, both tying on 52:05 for the win, Redhill would have won the team competition.

Continuing their rivalry from the Club TT Series, triathletes Neil Candler and Simon Baldwin once more locked horns with Simon narrowly missing out on going under the hour, as did Roly who has now recorded three 25's within 12 seconds of the elusive 60 minute benchmark!

Will Henton put in a solid ride to record a new personal best and improve his position over last years SCCU.
