After a dispiriting defeat against Addiscombe CC in the Interclub TT earlier this summer, a committed team of Redhill riders bounced back in style to conquer the mighty Norwood Paragon on the 10 mile course at Horne by a margin of over a minute for the six fastest riders from both clubs. This was the first Interclub TT vs Norwood and I suspect it may have stung a bit for them. For us, it was a fantastic return to form.
On the night, Charl Jordaan riding second claim for Redhill, was the fastest rider overall but even with his time discounted, the next six fastest RCC riders - the team of Peel, Candler, Brennan, Henton, Miles and Bunt - were strong enough to conquer.
The standard on the night was exceptionally high. Norwood fielded one time RCC supremo, Jon Masters, plus Marcus Brueton and last year's Denbies Duels winner, Dan Sullivan among their team. However, Matt Peel's 23:16 gave him 5 seconds over NP's fastest rider, Marcus Brueton, and backed up by Neil Candler with a 23:26 meant that we took the honours.
One of the stories of the night however was the fantastic performance from 18 year old, Justin Lariviere. This was his first ever (register those words) TT and he was riding on a road bike. Yet he was just 2 seconds off being included in our fastest six! A really superb taster of what's to come for this lad.
It was a night competed in great spirit and friendship and our thanks go to Norwood Paragon.

Overall, the total time for the fastest six Redhill CC riders was:
23:16 + 23:26 + 24:11 + 25:16 + 26:07 + 26:33 = 2h 28m 49s
For the Norwood Paragon Riders:
23:21 + 24:10 + 25:05 + 25:11 + 25:12 + 26:53 = 2h 29m 52s
The Redhill CC margin of victory for the fastest six riders on the night was therefore 1m 3s.
