Long Way (23 miles) and Not Far (5 miles)

About 16 of us met in Bletchingley  in the warm sunshine including two newcomers -  Sally and Dan.

We set off up the 21 route then North West towards Farthing Downs. Highlights included Nemesis and Badger Tabletops which were negotiated without any mishaps. This was our farthest point, 5 (crow flying) miles from the start. We headed back on Colin’s route through the woods which was not too brambly and nettly. Dan got a bit tangled up with a fence post and I managed to bang my head on a low hanging branch but no real harm done. At the top of Hextalls Lane, Sally and Dan peeled off to head back to Bletchingley but I’m sure they’ll be back for more soon. At this point it really was all downhill to the tea stop at the Green Rooms in Godstone. We did lots of sprawling on the grass in the sunshine and eating and drinking until I eventually decided it was time to mention the Second Loop. This seemed to remind several people that they had urgent appointments and they went off back to Bletchingley and beyond. The remaining eight brave souls followed me across to Jackass Lane, up to the Girls School Lodge then down past Kitchen Copse to the Bletchingley Arms for a welcome drink. Thanks to Aled and Colin for the occasional navigational advice. About 23 miles so quite far and no punctures except for the one Aled had on the way home which doesn’t count.
