Whoops round Wotton!

A staggeringly enthusiastic turn-out of 24 riders at the Wotton Hatch car park on a gloriously sunny, warm March day. After a gentle warm up, we took the singletrack climb up to Leith Hill tower, taking in the ‘Regurgitator’, and checking out the recently constructed singletrack from near the top of Leith Hill, down to the cricket pitch.  Then a whizz down to Holmbury via High Ashes Farm, and up Holmbury Hill for a taste of Yoghurt Pots, before the fun whoops on the wonderful descent of Barry Knows Best, before tea in Peaslake .

A short, sharp climb up from Peaslake, then north onto fast, dry undulating jeep tracks before crossing the A25, then turning east again to follow the broad valley eastwards back towards Wotton, with far-reaching views towards Ranmore Common. Re-crossing the A25 we began the final climb up Rookery Lane to re-join Wolvern’s Lane and complete the loop back to the start.
