This was reported as the worst ever weather coinditions in the history of the Hillingdon Winter Series. Despite torrential rain and stong winds there were still a large number of racers in attendance. Brian Hennessey was the sole RCC representative, lining up for the E12 race.
Jake Martin stormed away from the gun forcing strong pace from the outset. Jake got away on his own with a breakaway group of 7 forming behind him. Brian did not make the breakaway, but maintained position as the sharp end of the bunch. On the last lap going into the bendy section, Brian moved up to third in the bunch, more to avoid trouble than anything else. There have been a lot of last lap crashes of late. One rider went inside Brian on the right hind bend, giving him a nice tow up the hill and round the final left hander. Brian held this position to the line, placing him 4th in the bunch and 12th overall. However the E12 race is run concurrently with the cat 3 race, so with 2 cat 3 riders in the top 11, this gave Brian 10th in the E12 race and 1 more BC point in the bag.
The race was won comfortably by Jake Martin, with Vince Halpern taking the sprint in the break group to take 2nd place
