Here come the Girls

Beautiful Gals, Beautiful Countryside, Beautiful Weather.

Sums up my social ride on Sunday, don't know where all the guys were, all I knew is I probably wouldn't need to do too much talking on this ride.

Having promised a mud free ride I was proved wrong when we came across the imitation Somme trenches caused by a tractor that has been back and forth on the NC21 just before the motorway bridge, Cara bravely tackled it and came to a dead axle deep stop in a couple of feet, mud was ankle deep. Next stop was caused by Rosemary's chain jumping over the big rear sprocket ( bike just serviced, say no more) quickly adjusted. Also gave Lynne a chance to  de-sludge her bike.

The road up to War Coppice and then through to Willys Farm gave us great views across London to the Eye, Shard etc. Through Green Lane to Coulsdon  and a brief chat with Sally who was in running mode that day. Kenley Airfield and Wapses Lodge saw us arriving in the middle of Xmas at Knights Garden Centre, where Sandra decided to get off home and bring the kids back for a free ride on the merry-go-round.

Tea taken the drag up Long Hill to Woldingham got things going again, a descent to Godstone brought us back via the sandy track to Bletchingly.
