MY RIDE STARTED WITH A BANG, from Ian Sorrell's front tyre as it blew out before a pedal had turned, fixed we were on our way to Nutfield, Mertsham, Chipstead and Farthing Downs where we encountered a charity ride, having warned my lot to make the left turn at Doctors Lane a quiet affair someone called left and we magically increased our numbers by about 15 riders.
I suggested they leave someone at the corner until we were out of sight, Caterham and Burntwood Lane got us down to the Woldingham 'posh' knights centre, having convinced them we were not a group of muddies we took our seats inside the restaraunt ( I believe the offroaders visited later, sorry to miss you)
From Knights back on to the short lengh of N21 that gets you onto the Marden Valley road through the school, a couple of my group swooned at the sight of a bit of mud and elected to take the tarmac way !
After Godstone Church the Enterdent loomed as the final hill of the day, from there Tilburstow Hill gave us a fast run south to Horne and all stations to Smallfield etc.
Newcomer Nick managed to punture a few miles from home.
