2011 Silverware Winners

Forget the Grammy awards, Saturday saw the real award ceremony of the year at the Redhill Aerodrome.

About forty people turned out for drinks, lasagne or curry with apple pie on the menu,  Adrian and Rupert had prepared a slideshow presentation to rival the best in Hollywood with the fanfares  supplied by Adrian's youthful helpers. To complete the evening Geoff had personally engraved the trophies and our President Mr John Eglinton had  cut his holiday  in the Bahamas short to fly in and do the presentations. Rupert collected  the 25, 50-and 100 TT trophies together with the best all rounder, other notable achievements were Bruce Dunbar's cups for the longest distance over 12 and 24 hours and endurance riding.

Maurice Brennan received  cups for  Road Race champ and Hill Climb winner. Michelle Arthurs bucked the trend by taking the Ladies Champion trophy for 2 x 10 and 2 x 25 time trials, the first time this award has been given since 2004.

Among other winners were Chris Stone, Phil Jemmison , Brian Costello, Steve Taylor,   Graham Haysom, Stuart Adair, Mark Humphreys, Terry Sheldrake, Cheryl Barros, Gareth Ashton, Rick Gregory and Ian Leeding (full list below).

Presented by Brian Costello, the G trophies for the most improved G riders went this year to Kathleen (G1), Kimberley (G2), Lindsay (G3), Charles (G4), Calvin (G5)  and Maurice (G6).

Handicap winners were, Rick Gregory, Chris Batch, Stuart Metcalfe, Kim Lowe, Roy Brown, Adam Dolphin, Charl Jordaan, Dominic Hawkins, Neil Candler, Dave Powis, Robert Stephenson, Kevin Bailey and Alan Miles..

Overall, a wonderful evening of laughter and silverware. See you next year... work hard and it could be you!
