To explain, it was going to be a hilly G4 with three takers plus me as leader. Unfortunately Martin B decided he wasn’t feeling too good and bailed out quite early on (4G4 – 1). As 3G4 pottered along Woodhatch Road we were overtaken by the Steve T peloton (a mix of G5 and G6ers (xG5 + yG6)) and as Charles H decided to jump on the back of the train and we became part of their base ride and the hills were forgotten.
The result: a slightly damp 48 miles at 17.8 mph with a pleasant tea stop at Notcutts Garden Centre and time for Brian C to regret the lack of heifers on show!
Apologies for the pseudo maths but I am reading the biography of the mathematician John Nash (made famous by the film A Beautiful Mind).
