The best use of a good wine is to attract friends but too much wine ruins the pulse, mulled wine especially ruins the legs. This was the lesson learned by some on Tuesday’s well organised mince pie run.Fifteen RCC members gathered at the Aerodrome with the sounds of turkeys still emanating from the stomachs of all. Jackie guided us via Lonesome Lane, Horley, Norwood Hill, Newdigate, Dorking, Lodge Bottom lane up to Walton on the Hill. The mixed ability of all made for a social pace and the chance to talk to members not normally on ones normal G ride. If anyone wanted a leg stretcher, there were a few hills thrown up en route and then a chance to wait for the peloton to arrive. Norman and co. were waiting for us at Walton with the lovely mulled wine and mince pies. Most welcome. Thanks guys. Homeward bound via Pebblecombe Hill and Betchworth to Grahams Gaff for some more excellent nosh. Great Day, Great Company, Great Wine hic! Brian.
