Occasionally teatime

A slightly dull start saw an intrepid five strike out for Lingfield - newcomer Gemma, Grace who's been out with us once before, Barry, Frank and myself (Roy). The route took us past Outwood windmill, towards Tilburstow (but not up it) across to Crowhurst and down to "Occasionally Yours" at Lingfield. Lots of leafy green lanes and not too many cars.

Famous five take tea

A slightly dull start saw an intrepid five strike out for Lingfield - newcomer Gemma, Grace who's been out with us once before, Barry, Frank and myself (Roy). Grace couldn't resist a cream tea (I don't think they're available across the water) and various other cakes were consumed whilst chatting about nutrition for the bike..........well demonstrated by all of us. Gemma told us of the London to Paris ride she's doing in a few weeks - eeek! Get those miles in! Suitably refreshed the pedals were turning once again to skirt the Horne TT route, through to Smallfield and back to the aerodrome. There was a bit of a headwind in places, but not too bad.

Once again a very pleasant G1 with good company, chat, tea and cake. (Is there a theme building here?) We hope to see Grace and Gemma again, good to see Barry out again and big thanks to Frank for backmarking. My computer reckons 28 miles at 13.6 - perfect for a G1.
