Rupert Burbidge, who recently set a new club record in the 10m Time Trial was setting new records this morning as he strung together an impressive 3h 55m 00sec ride in the 2011 SCCU 100, which also serves as the Redhill CC Annual 100m Time Trial. The race also represents part of the SCCU Best All Rounder (BAR), where Rupert is sitting pretty after impressive rides at 25, 50 and 100 miles.
In terms of the overall for the event Julian Jenkinson showed his class riding to an imperious 3.42.04 in the colours of UTAG Yamaha.
This was the largest Redhill turnout for a 100m TT in some years and Chris Batch (4.37.31) and debutant Charl Jordaan (4.38.37) showed well in the overall standings. Geoff Clifton faded from some good early pace to finish in 4.54.05 and the dogged Richard Bailey dragged his extra wheel and ironmongery around to finish in 5.59.03
Congratulations to Rupert on a great ride for 2nd place and big thanks to Bruce Dunbar who was kept busy handing up bottles to us.
3rd place went to James Stuart of NP (on his 1st 100m TT), 4th and 5th to Rob Pelham and Nick Dwyer respectively of Lewes Wanderers.
