Our first Saturday ride for some weeks,
as some body was a bit inconsiderate when planning Christmas this year, and down came the rain. We’ve had weeks of snow and freezing temperatures and now we get Januarys quota for the wet stuff in an afternoon or two. Not to worry. Mud guards on, water proofs on … etc and up to Reigate for some fun.
A good number, 10 in total, made the effort in the gloom. Heading out towards Collie Hill, and we re greeted by the most spectacular views across the Weald to Surrey hills and south downs all as clear as day – Check out the photo.
Spirits up we made our way through the mud and puddles via Hedley out to Brocketts for a welcome break. Sue and Owen had beaten us here, but there was plenty of Mars Bar Cake to go around
Heavy under foot and hard on the legs, approximately 19 miles proved to be a good workout. Matt made it to the start before 9.30 and braved the whole route on his single speed
None the less, the conversation and banter flowed, and the time flew by.
Roll on next week
