Wescott usually brings in the crowds, but on this ocasion we were lucky. The weather, cold wet and windy, had left many curled up under there quilts (and it dosnt start getting cold till February?) and a few others mortals headed out west to Swinley for some gruisome training rides
Bliss, only tweleve to look after. This proved to be enough, after a few punctures and some detours through the woods the going was fairly slow. Up to Lieth hill via summer lightning, the main track up was heavy with deep puddles but the trails and single tracks were in excellent condition
Down Greensands way - Did you use your breaks ( well I did a couple of times - Ssshhhh!) what a thrill.
Climbing up to holmbury hill, missingYoghurts due to water levels, for Spactacular views across the weald to the South Downs. We nipped round the back end via an exciting track with a nice burm on the exit. Then secretly we crept up on Barry Knows Best for our finally before the tea break.
Cheese sticks all round and hot drinks
A plod along Abbinger bottom back to Wescott, a little assistance from a light shower to speed us up, we returned by 1.00 a happy bunch.
Cheers Phil for keping an eye on the back
& If you made the effort to go to Swindley - WHY ? - you cant beat the Surrey hills for MTB unless you cross the severn bridge or the Watford gap
