Wallis Wood Ride

Across the A25 and straight on then left up to Holmbury St Mary, which leads to a lovely fast descent to Forest Green.

Past the Parrot Inn to Wallis Wood... and left to Okewood Hill and back via Wear street, Capel and Newdigate to Tanhouse Farm for a tea stop.

The initial part of the ride was quite hilly up to Ranmore and the climb to Holmbury St Mary, from Forest Green back to Woodhatch is relatively flat and fast moving – letting us get our breath back.

Tannhouse is quite close to home and if it was not for Martin pushing us to move on I am sure we would have stayed a lot longer, although we were coming back later for the BBQ.

The ride at that stage was under 40 miles, Stuart suggested a route back via Lonesome Lane to add on some miles, like climbing was not enough!

There were 10 riders who were Simon, Jeremy, Martin, Pete, Sally, Allan, Stuart, Terry and Paul. Pete, thank you very much for back marking. Sally proving that ladies can also climb rapidly leaving some men amazed at her pace.

Paul left early. Thank you to Stuart for taking the riders back to Reigate. The eventual ride was 60 miles at an average of 15.5 mph, climbing in feet? Unknown, but fun!

Thanks all.

Chris
