With such a fantastic turnout of eager cyclists at Woodhatch, the demand for G2 with Sharon was so popular we decided to split it in two. John H and I jointly lead a gentle ride through Outwood and Blindley Heath to pick up Tandridge Lane.

Wiggling through country lanes to Staffhurst Wood where we met little else than a few horses and the same Ferrari twice. John, still recovering from an off-road tumble a few weeks ago, took it in turns to lead at the front and it wasn't long before we were skirting through the north of Edenbridge.

Harriet managed to pick up some abuse by passing traffic but a few potholes later and we found ourselves at our tea-stop rendezvous at Four Elms... and Sharon's group had beaten us there!

Teas, coffee and cake all round with a free helping of wasp left us refreshed for the journey home. Sharon kindly nominated me to lead a quicker ride back for those who wanted to stretch their legs whilst she lead a ride back via Edenbridge.

Eleven of us headed through Pootings and on through the picturesque Itchingwood Common, via Hurst Green for an extra loop and back on to Tandridge Lane. Unfortunately one rider picked up a puncture along the way but we soon picked up the pace to take us home via Smallfield.

Our group averaged 14.5mph on the way out and a respectable 18(ish!) on the way home.

A fantastic morning with a great turnout - a route and pace that stretched the muscles just nicely! and Sharons managed a niftly 15 mph great work for 17 keen G2ers
