Ride out to Woodhatch Park was misty and I was thinking this could be dangerous, what would it be like on top of Ranmore. By the time we left Woodhatch the mist had cleared and it was a beautiful morning.

The riders were evenly matched, and nobody was left behind.

Ride was out to Ripley, return via East Horsley. Punchbowl Lane had been recently tarred and a layer of fine stone was laid on top, this could lead to possible punctures. I had the ride come out at Arkle Manor onto the A25 to avoid the stretch of road at Punhbowl lane. Turned right down Pixham Lane, right again onto A24 towards West Humble, left to go up towards Ranmore and down Crocknorth Road, left at the bottom of Crocknorth and right onto Chalk Lane. This was a change to the normal ride. Straight across the A246 towards East Horsley. Arrived Watsons Bakery and it was only 10:20 am, we did not really feel that we had earned out tea and cake so went back up towards the A246, turned right and then turned right again towards Ripley. After a fast blast along Ripley Road, had tea at Watsons Bakery at Ripley.

Return was along the Ripley bypass and at the roundabout headed towards East Horsley and then through Effingham along High Barn Road towards Ranmore.

At Ranmore/Denbies some riders wanted to get home early and went straight down Ranmore along A25, home by 1:00 the rest of the riders went via Boxhill and back to Woodhatch.

Target of average speed of 15 mph was achieved at 15.6 mph.

Approximately 45 miles.
